It’s Your Time to Shine

Testing Season is upon us! On Wednesday May 1 our students jump into Testing. We will be in Testing Mode for the next two weeks.  Students have learned what they need to know, now is the time to show off everything they’ve learned this year.  We know they will be successful.

To help your student test well, here are some things you can do:

  • A good night’s sleep tonight and every night before testing.
  • A good breakfast.
  • Being at school ON TIME.  (Testing will start as close to 8:00 as possible as soon as all buses get in and students eat breakfast.)
  • Knowing that you think they will do well – give them an extra hug and let them know that you are cheering for them.

From Polk County Public Schools:

Polk County Public Schools opened its annual Community Feedback Survey on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Working with a committee, the Department of Assessment, Accountability & Evaluation created the Community Feedback Survey to measure public perception of the school district. Improving public perception is one of the goals of the school district’s current Strategic Plan.

The survey was first conducted in the 2016-17 school year to gather baseline data. Your participation in this year’s survey will allow us to gauge our progress in the various categories. The survey will be available to current students (grades 4 and higher), school and district staff, as well as parents and community members. Links to the surveys can be found below.

The survey will be open through Friday, April 26.

If you are both an employee and a parent, we would appreciate you taking both the Staff survey and Parent & Community survey.

Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Polk abrieron la Encuesta de Retroalimentación el lunes 8 de abril de 2019.

Trabando con un comité, el Departamento de Pruebas, Responsabilidad y Evaluación, creó la Encuesta de Retroalimentación de la Comunidad para medir la percepción del público sobre el distrito escolar. Mejorar la percepción pública es una de las metas del corriente Plan Estratégico del distrito escolar.

La encuesta fue conducida por primera vez en el año escolar 2016-17 para colectar datos de referencia. Su participación en la encuesta de este año nos permitirá medir el progreso en varias categorías. La encuesta estará disponible a estudiantes actuales (4to grado en adelante), personal escolar y del distrito, así como padres y miembros de la comunidad.

La encuesta permanecerá abierta hasta el viernes 26 de abril.

Si usted es ambos, empleado del distrito y padre, apreciaremos si toma ambas, la encuesta de Empleados y la encuesta de Padres y la Comunidad.

We hope all of our students enjoy their Spring Break.  We all return to school on April 1 and jump right into testing on April 2, so get plenty of rest over the break.
